Another common feature is that Catholics and Orthodox have a leader and also churches in which they have masses daily and weekly especially on feast days. Both religions share a similar tradition of life and faith; it is from the first millennium. Catholics and orthodox also declare to have the original New Testament. Although they both agree to have the same sacraments, they are taught differently to each other but they also consider that these are not barriers to unity. Both also accept the authority of the scriptures and the context in the church. They both used religion to unite power and also believe in the afterlife. Catholics and Orthodox also embrace the Holy trinity which is split into three portions (The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit). Some beliefs that they have in common are the gospel of the Lord, seven ecumenical councils of the first millennium and also the teachings of the saint’s fathers, the religion to the saints, Mary as the “Ever Virgin” and the presence of Jesus Christ in sacred mysteries and also the sacramental grace.
